Elise Breshears

Welcome! I am an economist at the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, working in the National Center for Environmental Economics. I received my PhD in Economics with a dual major in Environmental Science and Policy from Michigan State University.

I am an applied microeconomist with a focus on energy and environmental economics, public economics, and urban economics. My research examines how institutions and policies influence the ways individuals interact with the built and natural environment. In current work, I study information disclosure policies with applications in energy efficiency. I also explore such topics from an environmental justice perspective.

I am an Oregonian and received my MS in Economics and BS in Economics and Mathematics from Portland State University. 

Previously, I worked at Bonneville Power Administration and Energy Trust of Oregon.
